Welcome Helena Sant to our series "Ladies who Love Linen"!

Q. Tell us a little about yourself and what makes you tick?
I am a 27 year olf "wild child" with a deep passion for human connection, qualified Personal Stylist, Judge, MC, competition odfficial and winner of many different quests, representing Central Queensland at State level.  Growing up I always wanted to inspire, motiviate and make a positive difference in people's lives.  In Febuary 2021, Helena Sant Personal Stylist the business was created to educate both men and women to become the best versions of themselves through style.
I live by the quote ... "LEAP and the net will catch you".
Q. What have you found is your best secret styling tip?

Great question! Understanding your body shape and how to best accentuate your features. So often we purchase pieces that look fantastic on the model/mannequin only to be disappointed when we get home and it doesn't fit properly or look the same as it did on the mannequin/model. Once you understand how to dress for your shape, it is easier to look for particular styles, cuts, colours and eliminate impulse purchases.

Q. What do you love most about linen?

Good quality linen gives you that luxurious feeling and when properly cared for, will last a long time. Linen falls naturally over the body and is flattering for most body shapes. Linen fibre is also an eco warrior as it is fully biodegradable and recyclable thus protecting our planet from harmful chemicals often used in other fabrics.

Q. What do you think is most important when it comes to Winter / trans-seasonal dressing?

Making conscious purchases that will be an investment to your wardrobe. It's all about your personal style and complimenting your features while feeling fabulous. Purchase those items that you feel confident in and that can be easily mixed and matched.

Q. What do you wish you could tell your 20 year old self about how to dress?

To avoid getting caught in the trap of sale time and to wear other clothes rather than active wear all the time!

Q. How do you choose what colours to wear?

Learning about colour psychology was one of the key learnings I took away whilst completing my course and understanding the difference between warm and cool tones. This is just as important as body shape as it can make or break an outfit if the colours chosen on an outfit don't harmonise with skin tones. Everyone can wear virtually any colour, it's about choosing which shade compliments your undertone. There are a couple of different methods to determine whether you're a warm or cool tone, although I would highly recommend investing in a qualified personal stylist or colour expert. Always hold the garment up to your chin and identify whether it washes you out or changes your skin tone yellow. Does it make your eyes, lip and cheek colour pop?

Q. What do you love about living Central Queensland?

I am a born and bred Central Queenslander and wouldn't have it any other way! From our iconic coastal route featuring the Great Barrier Reef, to our inland countryside with breathtaking views of farming land, CQ boasts a delectable palette as well as the gorgeous warm weather. I encourage everyone to take a trip through the regions to experience what our towns have to offer and basque in all the wonderful things when visiting regional Queensland.
